The Law Office of Amy Rod, P.C.

Amy Rod focuses her practice primarily on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, adoptions, modifications, enforcements, pre- and post-marital agreements, and CPS cases. Amy is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, which distinction makes her the only board-certified family lawyer in Wharton, Matagorda, Jackson, and Colorado Counties. Amy is also a trained mediator.

Amy is the District 5 Director of the State Bar of Texas, representing the lawyers in Wharton and the 10 surrounding counties on the State Bar Board of Directors. She is a former member of the Texas Family Law Council, which serves as the governing body of the almost 6,000-member Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. She is also on the Form Book Committee and the Pro Bono Committee for the Family Law Section of the State Bar.  Amy has also served as the Chair of the District 5 Panel 3 Grievance Committee. She is a frequent author and presenter for Texas Bar CLE continuing legal education seminars.

Along with her family law practice, Amy has a general civil practice, assisting clients with wills, real estate transactions, and probate matters. Amy also serves as the Municipal Court Prosecutor for the city of East
Bernard. Amy is a lifelong resident of Wharton County. After graduating from El Campo High School with honors, she studied Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University, where she completed an internship with the FBI-Houston Office before graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.  Amy then obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center in 2000 and returned to Wharton County to practice with Paul Webb, PC, where she was named partner in 2006. Amy started her solo practice in 2026.

 

Outside of her law practice, Amy is a trustee and past chair of the Wharton County Junior College Board of Trustees. Married to Scott Rod, who is also from El Campo, Amy has two adult children, Bryn and Brock.
